The Giants and the Rebels renew their rivalry in this years’ Nutmeg Bowl

Hartford, CT - The New York Rebels are confirmed as the Connecticut Giants opponents in the Second Annual Nutmeg Bowl held at Dillon Stadium in Hartford, Connecticut. The Rebels and the Giants have matched up in the Eastern Football Alliance Divisional Finals two years in a row. With the Giants moving on to the NAFL, the two elite teams decide to take on each other one last time. “The Rebels are one of the most talented teams in the northeast. I consider Coach Green a friend and look forward to matching up with him again,” said General Manager Bernie Armstrong.

The Nutmeg Bowl is the last event of the Giants 2008 pre-season. The game provides fundraising opportunities to multiple non-for-profit organizations in the Hartford area, including the Boys and Girls Clubs and the East Hartford Youth Football League. “Our goal is to help raise $10,000 for the various groups involved in the game,” said Giants Promotional Coordinator Jesse Narvarez. Last years event took place in Danbury and was one of the Giants largest attended games of the season.

The Nutmeg Bowl is scheduled for June 28, 2008 with a 3pm kickoff.
